Global warming is caused by trapped heat from the sun due to excessive carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and it also has some serious effects on the earth. Global warming melts the polar ice both north and south causing a rise in the sea level. Sea-level rise will add to stresses coastal communities are already facing, including erosion, storms, and pressures from development. Human health may be threatened as heat waves, extreme weather, and vector-borne diseases become more prevalent.
I think that several people realize the seriousness of this problem, but it is difficult or impossible to reverse the process. Human beings depend on such things as oil and gasoline, which unfortunately pollute the atmosphere with emissions. I think that the best way to deal with this problem is to make younger generations become more informed and educated about global warming, and the serious threat it poses on our earth. We only have one earth to live on; if we continue to abuse its resources then soon enough it will no longer be a suitable place to live.
